Abstract. Block City Bandits (BCB) is a web-based, passive peer-vs-peer strategy game of economic warfare. Players organize into pools (factions) and compete for territorial control inside BLOCK CITY, a living treemap whose districts expand or contract with network strength. Gameplay is observationally synced to the Bitcoin blockchain: MAGIC (turns) accrues per block, key events align to real blocks, and day-to-day actions resolve instantly in the memepool to avoid block-time latency. BCB personifies Bitcoin’s core elements as playable units - Miners, Nodes, Devs, Cypherpunks. Assembled together and fueled by distinct consumables, they become your network, driving you toward control of the city and ultimate network dominance. Success depends on strategy, while rapid click-speed offers only a slight edge over passive play. Magic Internet Money (MIM) serves as the scarce in-game currency and prize mechanism: seasons use MIM for registration, distribute pooled rewards, and burn a percentage to maintain deflationary pressure. Social layers - Proof-of-REKT battlecards and an AI powered memepool ticker amplify pivotal clashes for viral spread. By weaving real Bitcoin signals into fast, low-friction play, BCB delivers a simple, meme-rich competitive system that is easy to start, hard to master, and designed for communities to rally around.
